College Visit #2- UofL

The girls were pleasantly surprised at how much they enjoyed their time at UofL and how impressive their School of Nursing is. We met with admissions, the college of nursing, had a tour (with the most hilarious guide, Landen ever- on a golf cart), ate at the Ville Grille and ended with speaking to someone from the honors college. Their decision will be tough and so far the biggest decision they’ve had to make. 

EYBL Tournament

The girls were busy on Saturday evening, May 28th. While Daddy, Mason and I sat by the pool, daddy mentioned the EYBL tournament being in town. When I looked up the teams playing, Mason’s excitement grew. We bought tickets and headed over to the Expo to watch about six hours of basketball, including a Bronny James vs DJ Wagner match up, Team Hero, Team Mello, and more. Not to mention, Mason was able to see and speak to Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony. We even saw UofL legends like Robbie Valentine and Persus Ellis. Mason said, “…this is better than Christmas!”  His reactions were priceless. 

Mason’s Family 5th Grade Celebration

Mason received the surprise of his life getting an Xbox from mommy and daddy on this special day. While we typically don’t do things like this, we know how much he wanted it, mommy had gift cards, and his reaction was priceless. Family showered him with clothes, shoes, and more gift cards as he gets ready to move on to middle school- so hard to believe. 

Last Day of School 2022

The last day of school for these kiddos was Friday, May 20th. They are now officially in 6th, 11th and 12th grades. Whoa!

I invited Raelee’s friend group over for a “Senior Breakfast,” the girls had friends over after school, and Mason had a blast at field day (Mason and Easton even dyed their hair purple to honor Ms. Beaton). 

It was Mommy’s field day at school too, so everyone was pretty exhausted. Daddy ran in his 4th Ragnar Trail race so mom was solo on the after school party. I would do this every week regardless of how tiring it is- it’s an honor being witness to these kids making memories and having the time of their lives. 

Mason’s 5th Grade Celebration

Mason and his classmates celebrated leaving 5th grade and starting a new chapter as middle schoolers, the last week of school. They had a beach theme party outside where there were certificates, silly string and cupcakes. 

College Visit #1- WKU

The girls fell in love with the WKU campus as we visited on May 17th. Josh set us up with a VIP tour thanks to his connections there. They were able to have an amazing tour, see the simulation room and building for the nursing program, and eat lunch with Donald Smith to discuss scholarships and other on campus opportunities. 

Mothers Day 2022

Mason & the Warriors 2022

Coach Shawn decided to start an AAU team and Mason was on board. So, for a while he was playing on two teams with peace once a week for both, and games once a week for both. He has learned a lot about the game and truly loves it. 

Easter 2022

The kids had an amazing Easter. After church we headed to Grammy and Poppy’s for an egg hunt before going to Mamaw and Papaw’s for another hunt! They’re never too old to hunt eggs!

Powder Puff 2022

Raelee ran safety and Jordyn was QB as Powder Puff 2022 kicked off. The kids had a blast, but in the end…the juniors won!
