Raelee Rides a Bike- WITHOUT Training Wheels!

A couple months ago Raelee became serious about wanting to learn to ride her bike without training wheels.  Yet, when she realized this was something that would not happen in a "blink," and that she may fall a few times, she decided to put it down for a while.  So, when I walked out the front door last week and saw her riding down the hill (helmet on) with her buddy, Austin (our neighbor across the street,) I was so proud!  Marty thought this was something she had been doing.  It was not!  A few minutes later, Selena (Austin's mom) came running out her front door cheering and clapping for Austin as she also watched him ride his bike by himself, for the first time.  They taught each other. They decided to go for it-- all on their own. It was precious.  They started at the top of the hill in front of our house, learned to balance first then steer up the hill.  Amazing!  Kids are so brave. 

Mason Checks In...

Today Mason had his (well I'm behind) 15-month check up, but actually he's working on 17 mos. old.  The time has really flown with him!  He weighs 27.5 lbs putting him in the 80th percentile for weight. He's also 70th in height and 90th in head.  WHOA.

Jordyn's Kindergarten Promotion

Last night we sat in the audience as we watched baby girl graduate from Kindergarten. My, how this year has flown!  We were so proud as we watched her join the stage three times for awards.  She was one of two recipients of the PERFECT ATTENDANCE award, out of 100 Kindergartners.  What an honor!  She was one of 12 (I believe) recipients of an Outstanding Academic Achievement Award.  And, to our surprise she was chosen as as Honorable Mention for a statewide KET Young Writers Contest.  She has done a great job this year.  She rocked it! 

Dress as Your Favorite Book Character...

The girls today were asked to dress as their favorite book character for school. Raelee chose Dorothy from Wizard of Oz and Jordyn chose Fancy Nancy, from well, Fancy Nancy.  Too cute!

Another Baby on the Way!

Nope... it's not me!!! It's Aunt Annie and Uncle Ryan! They found out this past Thursday that they will be having a beautiful and healthy baby girl, still due to come into this world on October 1st.  We can't wait to meet Baby Claire!

Baby Sarah

Our cousins Bruce and Elza have adopted a beautiful baby girl they named Sarah Athena.  She is just a perfectly, sweet little bundle of joy.  On Derby Day, the girls enjoyed holding their new cousin...

 

Babies!

A couple of weeks ago, the baby birds in the nest in the tree in our front yard, hatched!  We have really enjoyed watching the mama bird take care of them. Since then, they have flown away.  I was able to capture this precious picture...
