Fern Creek League- Mavericks

This winter, daddy and Coach Aaron took on leading this rec ball team in an impossible league. Teams were stacked and the refereeing was terrible. Despite the frustrations, Mason continued to do well. He worked hard, was a leader on the court, and improved in his experience as a player. Unfortunately in February, he rolled his ankle going up for a block during a game. He came down and immediately screamed out. I was keeping the book, but motioned for another mom to come over to cover me. We ended up leaving the game, taking him to Norton Brownsboro where they x-rayed it, finding it was a bad sprain. He was able to try out one day for the AAU team, Bluegrass Stars, but missed tryouts altogether for 502 Elite. He did make the “A” team for Bluegrass Stars. He worked so hard to recover the right way. He iced, elevated, and used bands to improve mobility. He is THE hardest-working kid I’ve ever seen.
