We Celebrate Raelee's Birthday

We didn't do anything "major" this year for Raelee's birthday anticipating a bigger celebration next year when she hits the double digits.  But, I did pick up her friend Addison and we headed to Kingpin Lanes for some bowling, last Tuesday (New Years Eve.)  After pizza, cookie cake and bowling a couple of games, we headed to get our nails painted.  It was a good day.  That evening, we celebrated New Years with our neighbors by moving through a progressive supper at each others' home.  We started at Jeff and Hillary's for apps, went to Mike and Rachel's for supper and ended at our house for dessert.  The Holyfields would normally have participated but came home THAT DAY with their new baby girl, Ella Kate.  We popped in for a sneak peak at the precious bundle of joy.  It brought back memories as that was the very day we came home from the hospital, exactly 9 years before, with Raelee.

Over the past couple of days we have been house-bound due to the Polar Vortex that has hit the entire east coast of the country pretty hard.  With sub zero temperatures, our winter break has been extended for a couple of extra days.  We were supposed to go back to school on Monday, January 6th and are still hanging out today.  We should go back to school tomorrow.  I'm ready to get back into the swing of things.  Jordyn starts her new gymnastics 2.0 class tonight.  It's a two-hour weekly class with a 16-week commitment.  At the end of the 16 weeks, the girls put on a routine for the family.  She's really looking forward to it and so are we!
