The Nutcracker- Charleston, WV

On Friday morning, Mamaw and Mommy surprised Raelee with an early 5th birthday gift... a trip to Charleston, WV to see "The Nutcracker," shop, eat and of course (Raelee's favorite)...staying in a hotel.
We stayed at the Marriott downtown and were in walking distance from the mall (may I add that this mall was two stories high.)
While Mommy worked on Friday, Mamaw treated her to shopping for jeans and getting her nails painted.
We then hooked up for dinner and relaxation at the hotel. Saturday, we took Raelee to see "The Nutcracker" which she thoroughly enjoyed, until about the last 15 minutes of the show; at which point she fell asleep.
It was a good thing everything was in walking distance (including my BB&T office) because it snowed, snowed... and snowed some more.
We had an excellent time and hope this created a special memory for Raelee.

Johnson's Child Care Christmas Concert!

Johnson's hosted their annual Christmas show at St Nicholas School on Sunday. The girls had a wonderful time meeting with Santa, sharing presents with teachers, and eating all kinds of goodies. While Jordyn's class did not sing, Raelee was to dress in "Rock Star" clothes and stole the show as "Rudolph!"

Braedon Turns 4!!!

Braedon Redfern turned 4 and celebrated by hosting a party at the Bowling Alley! This was Jordyn's first time bowling...

Choir Open House: Sunday, November 15th

Tonight the girls participated in an "Open House" for the children's choir at Highview Baptist Church. I led the three-year old choir class which went surprisingly well! Jordyn, of course, was in that room and spent most of the time singing and doing all the motions; but a part of the time pulling her shirt up, so she could pull up her pants.
Raelee was in a different room and Marty said she did great too!

Here are a couple pictures we took at home before the show:

High School Musical-- DANCE FEVER!

Anyone who knows Raelee and Jordyn (especially Raelee) knows that she is the BIGGEST High School Musical fan EVER! She loves Gabriella Montez (her favorite character who is in love with Troy Bolton.)

This video depicts the girls' favorite thing... dancing to their favorite songs while watching the movie, "High School Musical."
What great blackmail this will make one day.

The Piggy Flu...

This week Mommy turned 30! With that came lots of interesting things...

I officially picked up another region and two additional sales consultants at work;
Marty surprised me with the most magnificent gift a woman could ever hope for: a TIFFANY bracelet-- what a moment, when I saw the blue box!
And... Raelee was diagnosed with the H1N1 (swine) flu.
It came on all so fast. We were enjoying dinner with Aaron, Melissa, Grammy and Poppy at Outback on Thursday night. She complained of being cold... then a headache. Next thing we knew she was running a 103 fever.
The next day I called the doctor at exactly 9:00 a.m. Unfortunately, the line was busy for 30 minutes. However, I was finally able to get her in to see Dr. McCormick at 2:40. Sure enough... it was the "piggy" flu (as Doc called it.)
She seems to be feeling much better today.
When Daddy gets home, Mommy will be joining Aunt Annie and Mamaw for a day of peds, mans, and shopping!

Jordyn Turns 3!!!

Jordyn had a BIG Birthday! Themed, "The Little Mermaid." The fun began with an inflatable jumpie for all the kids to enjoy. Family and friends joined in the fun (even Grammy and Mamaw!)

Jumping, Pin the Crown on Ariel, food, cupcakes and more... all filled the afternoon from 1:00-3:00 on Saturday, September 26th.

Thank you everyone that came! She truly had a special day.

Raelee's First Soccer Game- GO VIPERS!

The Vipers dominated the 4 & 5-year old field at the Southeast YMCA this Saturday (September 19th.) Raelee played a little defense and a little offense. She mostly followed the other kids running, instead of following the ball (we're working on it.)

Overall, she said she really likes soccer much better than t-ball (again, I think it's a mix between the shirt color is purple instead of gray, and because there is much more ACTION in soccer.)

The girls are very busy and keeping Mommy and Daddy running.
Tuesdays are soccer practice
Wednesdays are dance class for Raelee & Jordyn
Saturdays are soccer games
Sunday is church and Sunday night is choir

(I'm tired.)

This week I'll be traveling one night to West VA. And this weekend is Jordyn's birthday. It's hard to believe my baby is going to be 3!

Stay tuned for party pics!

Soccer Begins...

Raelee had her first soccer practice on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. She is playing with the Southeast YMCA. The team: VIPERS! But, the shirt color is what she is more excited about: PURPLE. I think the biggest reason she did not like t-ball was because the shirt color was gray. :-)
So, we are expecting some awesome participation and excitement this time around!

NFL Thursday-- Eagles vs. Colts at Indy...

This was a blast! We had unbelievable seats! The girls stayed with Grammy & Poppy while Mom and Dad had a great time in Indianapolis. Naturally, we were the minority as Eagles fans, but it was still fun. As you can see by the pictures... our seats were awesome. We stayed across the street from Lucas Oil at the Staybridge Inn; it was super nice.

This coming Thursday, August 27th, the girls, Aunt Annie, Mamaw and myself are all heading to Pigeon Forge to enjoy some sites, swim, see the Aquarium and of course, Dollywood. I get to go for work, and also take the evening and weekend to spend time with the fam and enjoy some fun!
Stay tuned for more pictures.

Summer is nearly over

We are taking advantage of the last few weeks we have to enjoy our summer fun at the neighborhood pool.
Today... let's just say, Jordyn was not loving big sis.

Fun at the pool at Mamaw & Papaw's

Last weekend, we stopped by Mamaw and Papaw's for a dip in the pool!
