Jordyn is a PEACH!
The entire month of May was packed for Jordyn! She was running track, taking a back tuck class and trying out for competitive cheer at GymTyme! It was all worth it though as she was chosen to be on the peach team. It was exciting as she is on the same team with three other girls she cheered with at Tully. We are looking forward to her competitions this fall. She is currently a main base which is no surprise due to the strength she gained from gymnastics. Way to go Jordyn!
Let's Party! It's the End of School!
To celebrate Raelee going to middle school and an intro to summer, we grilled hotdogs and brats, enjoying some sides to go with, for a celebration with close family and friends. The girls enjoyed playing games, taking pictures with Raelee's new Polaroid, and painting a canvas with a friendship quote as a party favor. They had a great time! Despite the heat, the rain held out. Hello Summer!
We Get a New Dog!
The kids have been wanting a new dog since Ellie passed but it was a challenge finding one that met our requirements (small, doesn't shed, good with kids and not a puppy). After weeks of searching online, Mamaw sent me a text with a picture of Lady. She's a cocker spaniel, poodle mix and only 12 pounds. She was perfect! This sweet thing lived with a lady Mom worked with but the arrangement with her other dog was not working out. I let Jordyn in on the secret but left it a surprise for Raelee and Mason. We told them after the last day of school on May 25th that we were going to Etown to celebrate and eat with Grammy and Poppy. When we were about five minutes away from the McDonald's in Radcliff, I spilled the beans. Raelee started to cry with excitement. It was so sweet! So far she's been a great addition. She's only a little over a year old so she still has puppy-like tendencies. She carries off shoes and socks (sometimes even under wear) and barks more than Ellie did. She's very high energy so we are sure to take her for walks to wear her down. Because we didn't love the name Lady but wanted to keep a name that sounded similar so she wouldn't be confused, we decided on Brady (which was daddy's idea) since she has wavy hair. We love her already!
Raelee is Promoted to Middle School
It's hard to believe our baby is going to middle school but it's here! I thought I'd lose it on stage when I made eye contact with Marty after she passed by with a hug for mom. Raelee is growing up to be a wonderful person. She's smart, kind, dependable and beautiful on the inside and out. We couldn't be more proud.
