Braces Off!

On May 26th, Raelee got her braces off!  She looks amazing!

Celebrating Jordyn’s Transition to High School

Jordyn did it!  She made it through some of the tougher years and is now officially a high schooler. No 8th grade trip, dance or promotion ceremony, so the year ended with some disappointments for sure. We surprised her with a small family drive by parade to shower her with love. Parents, aunts and uncles did amazing by decorating their cars, honking their horns and handing off gift cards, gifts and cash. She was thrilled!  We said we’d be heading to take pictures of her at the park. Yet, when she walked outside around 6:30 that evening, she had a parade of love and support. We followed the event with a family zoom meeting around 8:15 to show a special video tribute mommy created for her and a chance for everyone to show their support. It wasn’t a promotion, but it definitely was a memory I’m sure she’ll cherish for a lifetime.

NTI Over...for now

NTI is not our favorite way to learn. The kids missed their routines, their friends, their teachers, and the activities at school. No field day, end of year pep rally or promotion ceremonies. It’s been difficult to process but the kids were relieved when learning at home ceased. May 11th officially marked their last days. They’re ready for summer!

Easter 2020

This Easter was not one with new dresses and shirts, or big Easter egg hunts and packed church services. Instead, it was one spent watching Southeast on TV, staying in our PJs, and enjoying homemade monkey bread. We played our new spike ball game as a family and hunted for eggs filled with “cash in” prizes like “family game night”, “character night”, “DQ night” and more. It worked out where each kiddo received 3 prizes each. Candy and presents were shipped from Grammy and Poppy and bucketball came from Mamaw and Papaw. We made the most of it and enjoyed this day that our Lord rose from the grave!

Mason had character night as one of his prizes and cashed it in one rainy evening. We rocked the OBX look as a fam!

Quarantined

This has been an interesting 2020 to say the least. Honestly, there are moments we know we shouldn’t take for granted (like all the family time we’re sure we will never get back), but at the same time we crave a sense of normalcy. Getting up and going is what we do and to not eat out, go to stores or friends and family members’ homes is tough. The kids have made the most of it. Mason has played a ton of basketball, the girls have worked on their tans, lots of exercise, and a ton of TV. The most liked quarantine show, however, was the Outer Banks. The girls are in love!
