Raelee’s 18th Birthday

It’s hard to imagine your baby one day turning 18, but here we are, watching our girl grow into a woman. She’s so low key, so it wasn’t surprising when I suggested a cabin at The Gorge that she jumped on the idea. Some couldn’t make it, but the girls seemed to have a great time. Lots of laughs and hilarious conversation! 

Caleb took her out on her actual birthday. Started by surprising her with beautiful flowers, ice skating in Paris Town and dinner at Troll Pub. 

Mason’s 12th Birthday!

All Mason wanted to do for his 12th birthday was play basketball with his friends. He invited his 6th grade team to join him at the Hillview Community Center where we played music, had pizza, cake and lots of ball!  We started with some “hats” versus “no hats” and then moved to shirts and skins. He ended with a 3 on 3 tournament where Mason’s team (which included Trace and Chase) won. 

Christmas 2022

Another amazing Christmas was had by all! The girls mostly wanted clothes and shoes but we pulled off a surprise for Jordyn with a new iPhone 13 Pro. She loves it!  For Mason, the biggest surprise was tickets to a Pacers vs Lakers game in February. His mind was blown! 

Mason’s Basketball Season

6th grade at MWMS has had its ups and downs for Mason but basketball is definitely an up! He loves this game more than any kid I’ve ever seen. He’s a great shooter, passer and defender. He is hard working, passionate, and an overall great teammate. This season he was even asked to play 7th grade a couple games and played well then, as well. Masons 6th grade team had three losses total, all against Eastside. 

While the championship game didn’t go their away against Eastside, due to some terrible refereeing, we were so proud of how hard our boys played. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for them! 

Raelee’s Final XC Banquet

While Raelee didn’t get to truly run her final XC season, she still gave a heart warming speech and was there for her teammates at the banquet on December 1st. She also “passed the book” to Emma Eckbundit. 

Thanksgiving 2022

BEHS Football Takes State

Bullitt East  pulled off a HUGE upset winning against Male in the state championship at Kroger Field! With less than a minute left in the game, the Philly Special was pulled off, with one of the gutsiest plays I’ve ever seen! 

When we returned home, we ate some dinner and then headed to the school for a HUGE celebration with fireworks, bell ringing and a slow clap led by the seniors in the gym. This community knows how to make kids feel special! 

UCA 2022

The Bullitt East girls did it again! Champions at the Bluegrass UCA qualifier in Lexington on November 19th! 

Halloween 2022

Halloween in the Halls at BE and a little Back to the Future for Kristen & Russ’ Halloween party. 

Raelee’s Rheumatologist Appt

Raelee received great news at her rheumatologist appointment on November 7th. Her labs are all improving, so Dr Strickler gave the go ahead to begin weaning her off her weekly injection, Benlysta. She now takes it every other week- so we went to First Watch to celebrate! 

Raelee’s Senior Photo Shoot

Raelee’s senior photos that we took in early November on a very cold Saturday morning, turned out incredible. Kiana knocked it out of the park catching her personality! 

Luke Combs 2022

Shawn Mendez cancelled his tour due to illness, so we bought the girls tickets to see Luke Combs, instead. Lainey Wilson and Jordan Davis opened for him and the girls had a blast!  So glad they were able to experience this together. 

We drove them there and picked them up to be safe, and while they were there we went to eat with Mason and took him to see Black Adam at the movies. 

XC Regionals

This was a difficult season after Raelee made the decision to not finish her final XC run. And while the time was emotional, she made sure to be there for her team. This picture captures it all at this years’s regionals in Oct. 

Jordyn’s Room Gets a Redo

For Jordyn’s 16th, she asked for a platform bed, with lights, and a unique picture wall. She asked, and we delivered thanks to her daddy’s creative skills with building and mommy’s way with Amazon. 😊

Mason’s Buddies Visit Grammy & Poppy’s

Mason’s friends, Zeke, Easton, Nolin, MJ, Trace and even Jackson and Eli went to Grammy & Poppy’s for a hike, lots of basketball, playing around, a movie and ALL the snacks. He hopes to make this an annual thing like the girls used to.
