Today was such a great day! The weather was beautiful and the girls woke up excited for their first day "back to school" for Raelee and first day "period" for Jordyn. The girls received an extended summer break as they were scheduled to return to JCPS on Monday, 8/15, but due to the power outages across the city because of a heavy storm that hit Louisville's east end on Saturday, school was closed Monday and Tuesday this week.
As we walked down the hall, I was holding Jordyn's hand... she then said she wanted to hold sissy's hand. So, Marty and I watched the two head down the shared Kindergarten and 1st Grade classroom hallway, together. I will remember that moment forever. Jordyn walked right in, sat down and hung her backpack on the back of her chair like an 'ole pro. She was ready. At only four, she was ready.
Raelee was also very excited as her best buddy, Estrella is in her class again this year.
